The Scandinavia chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Ayoola Lawal, has expressed sadness over the tragic terrorists attacks last weekend in Paris, France, which claimed 132 lives.
Mr. Lawal who described the killings as senseless, urged world leaders to look for ways to forestall these awful atrocities perpetrated by evil men.
The chairman while reacting to the incident said in press release made available to the African News in Stockholm yesterday that the trauma created in Paris could be likened to the US 9/11 attacks because it involved not just the people of France but the entire world.
He opined that ”one can hadly make sense out of the horrible killings and unspeakable fear being spread when the European countries are still struggling to tackle the problem of absorbing the displaced men, women and children from Syria”
Lawal querried that ”if the extremists can open fire on restaurants, concert venue, cafes and bars in popular spots, it means nobody and nowhere is safe as they kill and spread fear across the globe. It is simply an atrocity against humanity”
He condoled with the families of those who lost their loved ones, saying ”my heart goes out to the familes of all the victims of the coordinated senseless killings in different locations in Paris last Friday” and prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss.
He, however, called on the Nigerian Embassy in France to step up action to ensure the safety of Nigerians in France.
