Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström is currently in Addis Ababa to attend a two-day foreign ministers’ session of the African Union summit.
It is expected that heads of state and foreign ministers from 53 countries will participate in the meeting scheduled for January 27-28.
The theme of this year’s summit is ‘the Africa Year of Human Rights, in particular, with focus on the Rights of Women’
In connection with the foreign ministers’ meeting, Ms Wallström will hold bilateral talks with the leaders of several countries.
The minister will also have an opportunity to discuss security policy developments in Europe and Africa, migration, gender equality and human rights, and the multilateral system in a changing world.
